Debate
Our class broke into two teams, and we had a debate over the existence of animal testing. We had about a week to prepare for the actual debate. This debate taught me about preperation. I had to speak during the debate, and I had to work a lot prior to the debate so that I could explain my point easily and without hiccups. I still messed up a couple times but I memorized all of my lines and I feel as if I did a decent job. This wouldn't have been possible without all the research, writing, and practice runs. I wouldn't have done a good job if I didn't prepare.
Saluda Shoals Field Trip
As an ALA group, we went on a field trip to Saluda Shoals. We participated in lots of teamwork exercises, including a ropes course. From this awesome experience I can take away lots of different leadership skills, including teamwork, communication, and strategy.
